CAPA effectiveness checks are the step everyone forgets to schedule

AVEX Engineering Team · 1 min read

A CAPA that closes without a scheduled effectiveness check is an assumption, not a verified fix. Calendar the check before you close the CAPA, not after the next occurrence.

Closing a CAPA feels like the finish line, so the effectiveness check - confirming the fix actually prevented recurrence - gets treated as optional or forgotten entirely once the corrective action is implemented.

Schedule the effectiveness check before you close the CAPA, not after the next occurrence proves whether the fix worked. An unverified fix is a hypothesis, not a resolution.
